Mailinglists

Here you can create mailing lists on our Mailman infrastructure (SaaS by Onlime GmbH) without having to deal with the complex setup of Mailman.

After creating a new list, it will be immediately configured on our mail servers. To access the web based administration of all mailing lists where you have specified your email as the list administrator, please sign in directly to Mailman under «Sign Up» in the upper right corner and define a password there. It is important that you use the same email that you have used as list administrator while setting up the mailing list, so it is correctly linked to your Mailman account.

Under the URL https://lists.[YOUR-DOMAIN] you will find the Mailman overview page (Postorius web interface) of all mailing lists you have set up under that domain. As an example, here is one of our demo domains:

You can use the list server as a classic mailing list (moderated or unmoderated), as well as in newsletter or newsgroup mode. The admin interface provides you with numerous configuration options.

Mailinglist Name

To create a mailing list we need a unique email address, which you don't already have set up as an email account or forwarding. It is possible that the list name is rejected by us because it is already taken or reserved. In this case please try again.

Remember: If you choose an email as mailing list name, you cannot use it for an independent email account afterwards. This email is then only used for that mailing list.

WARNING

Certain emails are not allowed as mailinglist name, because they would only lead to confusion for the members resp. these names are usually used for other services: admin@, mailman@, info@, contact@, abuse@, postmaster@, list@ and some other e-mail prefixes. Otherwise, you are free to name your mailing list as you wish.

Please note that the mailinglist cannot be renamed afterwards, but only deleted and created again!
